Join us for an evening with Irma P. Hall: Actress- Educator-poet-Visual Artist and More to honor and celebrate her many achievements. Ms. Hall was born in Beaumont, Texas. She became an actress rather late in life and completely by surprise. As a teacher of languages for almost three decades in Dallas she was seen reading poetry by actor/director Raymond St. Jacques, who was in town shooting a movie, and then offered her a role in his film on the spot. She has since accumulated many acting credits and continues to be active in movies and the theatre. Among her many acting credits are A Family Thing (1996), Soul Food (1997), Patch Adams (1998), Collateral (2004), The Ladykillers (2004), Red (2011), Wolf (2012), Steps of Faith (2014), and A Man Called Jon (2015), Chi-Raq (2015).
